I talk a lot about magnesium preventing the signs and symptoms of aging but I would really love to reach women in their 40s and 50s who are trying desperately to get through mid-life to even have the opportunity to age! I have the impression these beautiful souls are much too busy to read my free eBooks so I’m dedicating tonight’s live, call-in radio show to them in hopes that friends and family who see them burning the candle at both ends will tell them to tune in and learn how they can get some relief.
I am calling this week’s radio topic Mid-Life Magnesium Crisis? and while the theme can apply to men suffering from career burn out or exercise-induced a-fib – my real audience is women in their late 30’s, 40’s and even 50’s who find themselves:
- Working full time.
- Still taking care of teen age children
- And your husband [or an ex!]
- Responsible for your ill and aging parents
- Making all the health care decisions in the family
It’s all on your shoulders, heavy on your heart, and draining your energy. Oh, yes, and making you feel guilty that some days you just want everyone to GO AWAY! Okay, that may seem a bit harsh but I’ve interviewed enough women over the past 40 years to know that what I’m saying is mostly true.
How this plays out in your health:
- You’re losing sleep
- Going 16-hour days
- Being responsible for too many people
- No time for self-care
- Eating poorly on the run
All of this is bound to deplete your adrenals, your thyroid, your digestion, and your energy. In the early days of your life, if you had children the stress of pregnancy depletes your thyroid and the stress of being up at night with young children could deplete your adrenals. If you didn’t have children a heavy-hitting career job could create the same effect. With your adrenal and thyroid hormones taxed to the max, early menopause is a common result.
To top it all off you keep hearing about 50-year old men falling dead of a heart attack and pray that doesn’t happen to your husband. What can you do, besides take out another life insurance policy?!
Well, it turns out, there is a lot you can do, and it’s not that difficult. It basically involves putting YOU at the center of your life again and making some really easy moves to dramatically improve your energy and your physiology and your well-being!
